We are a group of amateur actors who believe in promoting social change through the art of theater. We write and perform plays about social justice and the history of the struggle for human rights. Our motto is "Social Justice through Organic Theater". Organic Theater is a unique approach to theater that relies upon a collective vision and guidance. Organic Theater is raw and unpredictable and constantly fluid. Organic Theater projects a People's Voice and celebrates the growth that we experience together as a team. In the end, we feel a deep ownership of, and connection to, our art. Our name comes from former Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero who was assasinated on March 24th 1980 while fighting for peace and rights for the poor against a brutal dictatorship in El Salvador. We follow his lead in speaking truth to power. |
